This is about the cheapest electronic unit that I found, but I would recommend doing a search as you may find one cheaper

Used them on loads of cars, never had one leak, two jubilee clips, that are the correct size, side by side and a smear of non setting instant gasket or silicon and Roberts your Mothers Brother....

It is a wee bit expensive, and like ironhorse, I am not totally convinced that the slip it down the side of the hose and hope method is the best. However, unlike ironhorse, I am prepared to give the "back shed engineering" solution a try as it's about a third of the price, and if it was a total waist of time the internet would be full of moans! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
