I've just replaced the fan on mine. Kept blowing the fuse and smoke came from the motor when you replaced the fuse. Is the electric fan actually running? Fuse ok? |

In the glove compartment fuse box there are 4 large maxi fuses. It's the 1st one from the left. |

I think you are confusing the viscous fan with the electric one. There is a separate electric fan in front of the A/C condenser which also helps with normal cooling if needed (if the coolant temp gets too high). It's a standard BMW set-up, in cooler climates you can even get away with ditching the viscous fan completely and just using the electric fan. |

The viscous fan isn't what's throwing up the fault code though.
