Door latch mechanism

I was replacing the passenger door mirror when the door latch disconnected itself. How on earth do I reconnect it?

Exterior or Interior latch?
Whichever one it is it'll require the removal of the door card.
You'll probably find one of the cables/connecting rods has popped out.

It's the connection from the door itself to the inside of the card. There's a sort of curving plastic fork that need to be connected up to the inside door release, but how?

I was afraid it was something like that. Do I need teeny-weeny hands as well?

As Stan said it's just a but juggly. support the door card and you should have enough play- I managed it with my shovel hands! Laughing

When the cable on the outer door handle snapped I had to remove the door card, followed Rave to the picture / letter, and then it said pull the card away from the door, so I did, and the inner cable pinged off Banging Head Banging Head
What it should have read was gentaly ease the card away from the door so that you can release the inner door handle and see how it's fixed, Censored L/R, think I'm a spotty tech with enough strength to operate a keyboard, pull means yank not tease Censored Censored

Anyway it soon became apparent how it went together, only you do have to hold the card about 2" from the door so it's tight, but doable Thumbs Up

Ps check that it works before you clip the card back on, I wouldn't want you to have a Banging Head Banging Head Thud Censored Censored moment Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

And once you've mastered removing the door card you can check to make sure the key opens the drivers door. The rod can become disconnected inside which is fairly common (mine had). You'll be glad you did when you come back to a flat battery one day or your remote has lost it's sync!
