Try the fuel filter. It may be blocked or failing that it may be the low pressure fuel pump.

spot on mark! my mechanic has just confirmed its the fuel pump near the tank that has failed. he even came prepared with pumps and filters. relieved to say the least. my thoughts were initially it was the turbo or worse...;-0 Diver Bryn Previous Transport: Honda CB250n Toyota Starlet Renault Fuego 2 ltr TX Fuego Turbo BMW 528i Escort RS Turbo Capri 2.0 L Ghia Kawasaki GT750 P4 Mini Metro Ford XR2 Volvo 740 TDi Estate Mondeo Tdi Volvo V70 Tdi Mercedes E300 TDI Mercedes E320 Cdi Mercedes S320 Cdi Land Rover Discovery 3 TDV6 Mini Cooper Diesel Mercedes Vito Van 111 Range Rover TD6 VW Golf 2ltr GTD 2015 Year 2016 Audi Q7 Sline 3ltr 272Bhp |

So when you say spot on, what you mean is it was the pump not the filter.........

I had the low pressure pump fail on me, it wouldn't go over 30mph, not what you want on the A1 Monday morning. About an hour prior to it loosing power on the A1 while travelling through the Yorkshire Dales I noticed a kind of blip/engine flutter/gear change hesitation when it changed up a gear going up steep hills. It felt a little like it went from 3rd to 4th and then 3rd to 4th again. Towed to the dealer and £365 later all was well. The dealer was Ribblesdale in Settle, nice bunch of people with proper old style service, not the artificial meet and greet I get down the Skoda dealer I wish they wouldn't bother 'cause they don't give a monkeys really, they've just been on "THAT" course. |
