Can re-maps 'go wrong' or crash?

Random question, am considering a remap of my TD6 to breathe a bit of life into her, and one of the companies I'm considering are based 200 miles away ,and come to you to do the work, they have a very good rep.

I was wondering do re-maps ever go wrong, or 'crash' similar to a computer? Am wondering what happens if after a while something goes wrong with it??

A remap is only software. It will only go wrong if there is an internal issue within the ECU Thumbs Up

a remap should never fail as your optimizing the data which is already present in the ECU. The only time it can give issues if you have a preexisting problem with the Engine or the calibration made for it is sub standard. i personally have never had any issues with the ones i have done as i always perform a health check before any work

If mileage is an issue (200 trip) I think Pete BAS (Bell Auto Serviced) does a posted/email system as one of his offerings ? Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
