Headlights

My headlights don't seem bright enough in the dark (dipped beam). I'm comparing these to my D3 which were pretty good, original lighting not messed with. Would changing the xenon bulbs make a difference? Do they get dimmer over time? High beam seems fine, although I'm sure it's still not as bright as the D3.

given the age of your FF the xenon bulbs should be fine ..are the headlights adjusted correctly? ... - .- -.

Cheers Stan, I've done a search regarding the lights and found the adjusting hex heads. They do seem low down on the road, especially the drivers side one. They really seem dim though. I did change the xenon bulbs in the D3.

you could change to 6000k bulbs which technically are not as powerful as the standard 4300k ones but they do give a clearer whiter light..
i think once you have adjusted yours they should light up the road batter.... ... - .- -.

Ta, I'll see if I can adjust them, don't want to dazzle other road users. Maybe I could also change the bulbs too. I think I got the last ones from hid sponsor on the D3 site. Can you buy them anywhere? What's the official name and part number of these bulbs? Thumbs Up

Been out tonight and the lights look like they need adjusting. Seem to throw the beam of light right in front of the car and then when I put main beam on it throws the light not much further than dipped beam. Although it blinking blinds me with the reflection on the white road signs. Decided I'm going to buy some Philips X-treme d3s bulbs that they RECKON they are 50% brighter. As anyone bought some of these and if so are they better than the normal ones?

£40 more each bulb but if they ARE brighter as they say they are I'm sure it's money spent well. I like to see where I'm going at night Very Happy
Stan, the other lights that are in the centre bit next to the grill, are these normal H7 bulbs? Might change those too. I did on the D3 and it did make a difference.
Thumbs Up

headlights out, put a cloth or some protection on the bumper cos its easy to scratch when removing the headlight units...
the d3s bulbs have a square base with a plug thingy on one side. ... - .- -.
