Hi Pete

An guess what instant refund on the TV unit
I do need another now though
I have brought another android unit since for my truck
I got it from the cool beans store
If you do research erisin arnt the only people that sell that unit

Research I did at the time suggested that they actually made them and distributed them to others but this may be smoke and mirrors.... hard to find real information...

Glad you got yours sorted....

Oh, and I still want a go on your Harley... Very Happy Very Happy Pete

Hi Pete, I am very much interested in your detailed method of installation if you don't mind sharing it, I'm listening to music through a hands free kit off my phone at the moment and its painful.

Any help would be much appreciated, I got mine from Koolerton but it looks identical to yours.

Cheers, Nick

Phil, full motorcycle licence for longer than I care to think.. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Nickc Good luck with the install, although I did think the Koolerton ones were different, so check their wiring diagram before you do it....

Any bother, just shout on here or PM me... Pete

Thanks, Phil much appreciated.

Hi Pete, unfortunately they didn't supply a wiring diagram, so I will check the colours on your info against the they 5m lead they supplied and hopefully they will match. If not I will send you a picture of the connection to the head and maybe you might be able to work out what colours are the right ones to use based on their position in the connector.

The heads already in and cable run to the back as a guy called Iron horse from Brum on the RR Forum said he did it with the long lead, a parrot lead and a 12v connection, what he didn't say was where the 12v supply was for. He said he it was all plug and play apart from that 12v supply. Cant get hold of him now and after a couple of weeks of trying different things I found you guys. So its out with the old and in with the new this weekend and hopefully I can get it sorted.

Thanks for all the info, will keep you posted.

Nick.

So i have been in touch with erisin (and actually the ebay store) to confirm pricing but someone called penny emailed to say it will be a day or so before they get back to me. Desperate to get this ordered! So much so, i ripped the dsp, radio, sat nav, tv units out tonight - i also stripped out the subwoofer as it rattles like crazy anyway.

My plan is to get the es9753eu head unit, dvb-t unit (although shouls it not be dvb-t2?) and the 6m power lead.

Couple questions/thoughts whilst im waiting to get my new kit if i may

1. Read view camera. Anyone got a link to a good one? Do they have the red/green lines as you see in modern cars? Where did you mount it? Should i order one from erisin? Just any pointers useful!

2. I plan to install a small, active (powered) subwoofer to the sub output - will need power when unit is powered on, is there an obvious power line that will trigger the sub on?

3. My slight nervousness is around sound punch and quality - the dsp was powerFul but i never liked the settings that much if i am honest. Does sound really sound much less impressive when you rely on this unit only to power all speakers? I see there are two audio outs (2x2 for front and rear), what if connect these to a small seperate amplifier and so power some from the main speaker lines (amp from unit) and some from the outs? Or are these seperate outs not 'on' when other speakers connected?

Or are these audio outs only used in line with the video outs?

4. Finally, the kids have dvd players already mouted to headrests , 9inch. I know they are not built in so a bit ugly, but changing dvds mid journey is a nightmare as they both too young to change and reach units. So im gonna run video outs to them up via back of seats. But, since this is purely so i can switch dvds from head unit for them, this means dvd will be playing up front - wont mr plod be upset at me? Is there a way to 'blank' the front screen without switching the video ou/current sound off?

Sorry for all the questions, just over planning my next weekend hopefully!

Paul

Hi Pete, I did notice that on a previous email you offered to install the head for someone, I have installed the power lead, the head, 4 speaker wires from the RCA output socket (not sure if I need them though) and I have taken out all the DSP, TV and radio amps etc. I have connect my power lead into the radio connector and everything works still including the new head, clock and steering when controls, just the speakers not working, I was wondering if firstly I could leave the leads connected and just disconnect the wires to power the speakers and connect them into the wires from the amp. do you think that would be possible and secondly if possible would you be interested in doing the connections for a fee/ crates of beer as I'm crxpping myself I am still going to be doing this when I go fishing in france at the end of July. I live north of Lincoln.

Understand if you cant but any further advice would always be welcome.

1. erisin do sell them but I suspect you can get better quality ones, depends what you want to spend..

2. Haven't a clue what one of them is but there is a power out of the head unit to switch the aerial amp on so you could use that through a relay to power anything else on...

3. I haven't got HD ears so it sounds fine to me..... They don't give specs for the extra outputs so you would have to give it a go and see...

4. You can play a dvd through the rears and watch the satnav at the same time so can't see it would be a problem.. Pete

Hi guys, I've got the older version to Petes android one and it's running directly to all speakers, then an amp in the boot to a separate sub.

Sounds great to me, certainly as good as my old kenwood/infinity speaker system in the old car. Dan

Dannyh,

Did you run a 12v line right through to battery for the subwoofer amp, then connect to the remote/antennae wire from unit to switch it on? Or did you pick up a live in trunk for sub amp?

Thx
