You can indeed buy a terraced house for that money but in reality is even that worth £100,000, after all it's still only a load of old bricks. Agueroooooooooo. 93-20

So the feeling I get is those who have them think their worth the money and provide a cracking car for £100k, those who don't won them feel their not quite there, in the main. This is what I thought too and I was interested in why people think they are £100k...

Its very true and simply I do not feel the new RR justifies a 100k price tag. I would understand if they were market leaders in adding new technology that no other manufacturer had desgined and this would be implemented in all cars in 10 years time like the S Class does.

@ Stan, I think there is some truth there...I recall disliking the D3 when it came out but I still bought a 6 month old one and racked up 160k in it, so the wealth thing is usually the key, though many will simply find/fund it one way or another...I am not a fan of finance, if I cant pay for it now I'd rather not have it...old fashioned for a sub 40yr old I know but it's not done me any harm.

I haven't driven one so my opinion comes from design aesthetics and price only.

I wonder if there any better built than previous generations ? only time will tell on that one but as the price rises so does expectation. If I look at my L322 at just shy of £77,000 new and then look at the number of issues around like rusty tailgates & bubbling arches it questions my thoughts on keeping mine long term or getting another one. If the price rises from £77 to £100 them my expectations are going to get higher - but have they put it together better with higher quality materials and learnt from the problems with previous models or to use the housing analogy is it a sellers’ market and there charging what they can because there are enough buyers with the money to pay £100 ? (which there clearly are)

It's worth what the market will pay for it, and they don't seem to have many problems shifting them. |
