I take it you can see more from the drivers seat during the old reverse up a dark alley manoeuvre ?

Will you have to swap them out for mot or don't they look that obvious ?

Looks like it's worked though....

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Just tried to fit the 21watt halogen bulbs to my reversing light units on my MY2002 Vogue that mjdronfield obtained from Amazon.

Pins seem to be at a slightly different offset but got them into the holders. However when I tried to fit the bulb holders to the lens I found them too long to allow the holder to twist to secure in place and in attempting to do this saw that the plastic lens was being forced away from the back of the unit.

Did your bulbs holders twist easily mjdronfield or did you have to make any alterations to the bulb holder or lens unit.

I also must have shorted something out as the car would then not start and I had to jump start it using a spare battery

I wonder if the bulbs I received are slightly longer. I've had to revert to the original bulbs. Peter Kemp

Well that's a bit pants.

Didn't make any changes to mine.

They were tight though - one bulb was easier to get into the holder than the other.

I think the bulbs have to be really in to their holder to allow the holder to twist into the lamp unit.

I pushed a but whilst turning and they fitted ok.

The pin offsets looked the same as what I took out. They will only go in in one position.

Interested to hear if anyone else has issues.

2 of us have managed to upgrade, and 1 has had to abort. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Many thanks for the update mjdronfield,

The bulbs were a very tight fit in the holders. I pushed them well down to make sure they were seated properly.

Having got them in I couldn't get them out again and had too take a pair of pliers to them so I could replace the originals so I might have ruined both although the bulb glass is still intact

The reversing light units on my vehicle are bog standard MY2002 but I have upgraded the front sidelight / indicator and rear light units to US spec with the orange and red side running lights. The rear lens pattern is I think that of the MY2004 model with a clear lens above a red lens Peter Kemp

I've not had to remove mine. Could be a bit tight then.

Sorry, I must have had a senior moment re the rear lights, as they obviously have nothing to do with the reverse lights.

I think I've got no more than 2 or 3 mm of the steel base of the bulb visible when it's in the black holder.......

Not sure if this helps. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
