...and it'll be a lot quieter and smoother than a Stratocruiser with it's 4 * 28 cylinder Pratt and Whitney's.

I'd prefer the stratocruiser though. :thumbsup:

Love amphibians.

That particular aeroplane has 5 engines. The fifth is for boundary layer control for short take off and landing.

Here you go.



Quite a clever system. Some jets have used it, like the Buccaneer and the TSR2, but not with an extra engine. They just bleed air from the jet compressor.
