andy, use your original key to start the sync process, put it in the ignition turn to point one then off and remove the key, start the sync process with the new key or keys and then sync your old key if you going to keep it.

Key arrived today, followed your instructions and synced at first attempt, got baled cut and assembled with transponder from old key and everything works. Have glued the two halves together.

Key now sync'd to the car, taking it to Timsons tomorrow during my lunch hour and I'll get the chip swapped over tomorrow evening Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White

Hi everyone, well, thanks to Daveo, I now have a lovely, fully operational flip key! Blade was cut today on an all singing all dancing laser jig thingy in Southampton, and works perfectly!

Btw, key was cut by County Locksmiths,Bitterne, Southampton. Lovely guys, proper kit, can recommend them. (No affiliation other than a satisfied customer!) |

I just used a tiny dab of contact adhesive. Didn't want it to be impossible to take part in the future!
