Solved the Problem !!! Razz

Took off for the 3rd Saturday night running. Neutral
Removed bulb holders , dried out overnight

Ran a bead of Araldite epoxy resin along all the edges, regardless of whether seal looked perished.

Not a hint of moisture inside, despite the murky cold weather !

I think the only way to cure the problem is to drill a discrete hole in the bottom of each lens to allow any water that leaks in to drain.

+1, after reading on here, I drilled a couple of discreetish holes, watched niagra falls for five minutes and not had any issues since. Use a small drill bit and you wont even see the hole, although working brilliantly to fix the problem, obviously a 13mm drill bit might not be discreet enough Mr. Green 2007 3.0L Diesel VW Touareg SE

thanks for the pics...

do yo you think i would get the same effect if i were to drill the hole form the bottom of the units( would need to remove the units, which is a couple of minutes job)?

When I did mine I drilled two 3mm dia holes thro the bottom of the units, one in each corner, centred on the joint.
If you do it this way use a new drill and be very gentle, minimal pressure on the drill.
If I was doing it again I would put a 2mm drill thro as a pilot.
Works very well, no misting since.

I also drilled from the underside, in the joint. I used a 0.2 mm (Dremel tool) and drilled three holes. They are totally invisible ----------
