If we use the same kind of thinking then we should all be driving p38's. not bother repairing them and then when they fail at anything more than a £100 repair scrap them on fleabay.

Craig you have also missed the point. I am not comparing the SC with the AJV8 (Or TDV8) I comparing the AJV8 with the TDV8 the SC is a different matter entirely and should only be considered if you are happy with the MPG. So some may prefer the massive torque of the TDV8 or the Torque Curve of the SC but that's not the point. The point is very few people have experienced the normally aspirated AJV8 and the excellent driving experience for a massive discount over the identical TDV8 and 20mpg possible. Win every way |

Have you taken into account the higher tax band? I pay £260 a year on my TD6. Aren't the later ones (2006 onwards) nearer £470 a year these days? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded |

I agree with Will if you are running bio at 0.9pl the numbers change quite a bit. I wish JLR would develop the engines for 100% bio as well (if they are not already doing that of course in their push to increase the environmental friendly approach). For now a lot of people can't or won't run it on bio but if you do, it changes the numbers of course. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Well, having had 11mpg from a 3.9 V8 Range Rover Classic I said "never again" to a big petrol 4x4.

Yes its easy to see why people would choose Diesel over Petrol per se but this is a specific comparison between two specific cars and the price difference saving (petrol fund) on purchase.
