Switch everything off, remove the key from the ignition and go and have a cup of tea/coffee then in 20 minutes come back and disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive terminal |

if you have the bonnet in service mode and have a step to stand on, it shouldnt be that bad.. ... - .- -.

Battery should have handles on it? If not you should be able to slide some webbing underneath. depends on the size of what is in there at the moment.
