Tool will not allow configuration of the BMW ECU .... Probably due to slightly different firmware.

So, I have made sure I have the latest firmware 2.17 as of today, but I do not know how to access the hot and cold monitoring of the light control module. It does not seem to appear when going through the list on the car. What is the correct pathway to it, and is it available on the 2002-2005 version? Tom

Steve, just checking before I order one... I have a model 2006 TD6 (Vin starts with A6......) but it was delivered in August 2005. If I have understood all posts on here and the information on your site correctly then I should be ordering the IID for the 2006 - 2009 model, despite the FFRR being delivered in 2005, correct?

New to this and a whole new world is opening up for me so excuse me for maybe asking dumb questions!!

Mike, if you post a photo of your screen in the car. That is one of the best indicators. The touchscreen version has fewer and different buttons on the MY2006 and up.

Mine is a MY 2006 but built in May 2005 and has touchscreen/MOST system etc.

I use the Faultmate and not the IID by the way. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I have a similar vehicle registered 05 but 6A chassis so ordered the 2006-2009 and it works fine

It's a touchscreen so must be the 2006 then... See picture.



I checked out the faultmate but read some PDF document where it seemed most of the software fitment qualification is till 2005 or even mid 2004 so this confused me to if/how it would be suitable for my vehicle or will have more or less options then the IID.

I contacted Patrick and he told me to uninstall the old updater and install the new one you will have to contact them directly if you need it although you should be able to get it from their site.

Then I updated the firmware and it works perfectly giving me access to all the hot and cold monitoring options. My version before the upgrade was 2.17.01 but the latest is 2.17.03 with 04 due out soon. Hot and cold monitoring was only activated on version 2.17.02 onwards. So check your version.

Patrick did say that for some users holding down the + button for 3 seconds can get the menu working if it sticks, but with the new update the menus work faster than before.

big thumbs up for the gap team they wrote me a patch that allowed me to programe the rain sensor and now it works, never did since i had the car but these guys dug deep into the BCM and pulled the right codes out..thanks again

now where would you get service like that  V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
