OK, having finally decided to ditch the (not so) smart phone, mainly due to the persistent inability to perform their primary function, i.e. make telephone calls.

Ipad definitely. Apple products are for those who want the best, and don't want to waste their time trying to figure out how to use it, or make it work.

Guess you typed that on your Android , as the word is "Freaks" and not 'freeks"

Android is much more versatile than Apple due to the open platform and that is what attracts me, plus the openness that Apple misses. I also don't like the "must have" craze that Apple seems to generate.

I was never really an apple fan, and could not see the attraction, until I bought one.... It just works. I use it for just about everything now. I have apple tv in the house now and it is great. I can select programmes/video/music on the iPad and watch it on the telly. For the formula 1 I have sky go running and can watch in car video, track position etc, live, as the race is on, and the main race is on the telly.... Yes android will probably do all that as well... But the apple is all plug and play with no set up.. I love it. (no flash is a pain in the erse on some websites tho') Previously..

I read my e-mail OK on my iPhone but I have an Ipad2 next to the control centre in the front room (my seat) just to google stuff I see on telly so's I don't have to move my lard arse upstairs to a computer, Internet on a phone, any phone, seems to be hard work.

You mention Vodaphone. And an iPad works very well on Vodaphone from recent experience with a friend's device.
