United Arab Emirates

I received mine back from Baris today ( I only sent it on Mon) and I couldn't wait to get it fitted into the RR. I had the firmware upgrade and repair as well as IPhone and aux cable attached.

I went a little bit further and used the little tray in front of the gear selector and made my own iPhone dock. Meaning I just get in the car and drop it in the cradle and it charges and plays my music. It took a while routing the very long cable through the car but I got there in the end. I would post pics but working out how to do it.

I would definately recommend this upgrade. Very Happy

so does this do away with the need for an intravee then??
because am i right in thinking that it works out a little cheaper than in intravee?

I didn't use a dock from Maplins. I had the centre console out and basically with the use of a dremel and a nervous steady hand cut a perfect slot for a iPhone cable to slot through.

I can't control the iPhone from the steering controls but it's easy enough to reach so i don't think it's the same as an intravee.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

I'd do a new thread for this if I were you mate.

Looks excellent.

I have a BMW hybrid tuner installed, so won't be partaking in this particular upgrade I'm afraid.

I'm on the look out for some upgraded speakers from a 2005 onwards model if you come across any............

United States 2005 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Chawton White

I have a US model year 2005.
It has the touchscreen (in US, non-touchscreen was '03 & '04).
Does the firmware upgrade apply to this model?
US & UK model years don't match, apparently.
Or does the firmware upgrade bring a non-touchscreen up to what I already have? Jim

Can someone (hopefully Baris) please clarify the modifications required for AUX - IN ?

1. I understand that BM54 pre 09/2002 didn't have it "enabled"
2. Post 09/2002 you could just plug in the cable and it would work (as evidenced by all the Beemer users doing it)
3. For pre 09/2002 models, is there further soldering to do inside the BM54 unit, to connect the external pins to something internal?
4. For pre 09/2002 models, is there an additional a firmware (chip) / software (flash) upgrade to the BM54 required as well?
5. In Steve Mfr 's post, he shows a little board with capacitors and resistors. I understand you only need this if you don't have something "plugged in" to your aux-in?

Given I have an Apr 2002 car, I am assuming I have the pre 09/2002 BM54. It has the flat pins. Radio works fine, so was hoping to attempt the aux-in mod myself. Can do the soldering (if I knew what to solder to what!) but don't have the tech if firmware/software is required. .
