2016 L405. On uneven roads, when the shell flexes, there is a knock from somewhere around the B pillar or rear door on the passenger side.

I've heard that the RRS had some issues in that area, but ...

I do like the car and wouldn't reject it.

Our service manager at the local dealership seemed also to think their decision was a bit harsh. He has given me another number to call.

How does one push them?

I called customer services and the lady I spoke to said that the warranty department won't change their minds and it is for the supplying dealer to resolve at their expense.
