thanks cg, actually thought it might have been a bad seal so i tried to cover the seal gaps i had with filler just as a test. no luck. about half a cup of water in the boot again.

let me know how you get on, ill keep trying via trial and error, see what i can find

Was out for a run today - had the LHS 'hole' at the bumper bolts stuffed with kitchen roll, absolutely soaking after a return journey to Stirling.......RHS had some dampness but nothing like the LHS.

I think I need to get the bumper off for a proper look, was hopeful a new seal would fix it but need to wait and see when it arrives - I just can't see where else it can be getting in. Neither of the compartments at the left or right have any signs of water - it just seems to be coming in at that area under the bumper bolts and running into the wheel well.

It actually doesn't look to me like the water can even be getting in at the bumper bolts either as I don't think there is a big opening there - looks just like the bolt holes but cant confirm until I remove the bumper.....grrrr Censored Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Hi CG,

I very much had the same results as you, I dont know if there is so much a distinction anymore between left and right, last night i had the car parked a certain way and the right hole was soaked and left was damp, this time i purposly parked the RR so the back would get soaked by the rain etc and it appears the left hole was soaked this time, I dont know if it just runs along an area inside linking the two holes together. it certainly isnt the usual reasons like rear quater panels etc because like you I have checked both comparements and they are bone dry.

it certainly has something to do with the upper or lower tailgate, i dont know exactly what but im sure its something there.

On another related thread one fo the guys suggested taping up the sides on the upper and lower tailgate area, hosing water on it while taking tap off one by one on each side, panel etc and seeing when the water starts coming in, this sounds like a good idea, its just very tedious however I am getting to a point I might give this a try now.

it is a total pain in the ass Censored

PS. This thread has some useful points to check http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic4534.h...ndensation

Agreed, total PITA.......my car was bone dry in there up until a couple of weeks ago - I regularly checked it so I know it didn't leak before.

What is puzzling is that both rear quarters are dry and that it seems to be coming in at the rear and running into the wheel well - I'm determined to get to the bottom of it...

Only thing that I have had done recently was to get the rear wheel arch lips painted but I can't see how that has caused the water ingress.

My water ingress seems to be worse when it's being driven as opposed to just sitting in the drive stationary.

I've also ruled out the sunroof drains, all four of them are draining freely.

Will keep searching and keep you updated Thumbs Up Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Hi Mate,

haha Yeah unless the paint had an acid base and tore through the body work, i dont think that would be related. much like you I am determined to get to the bottom of it.

I will keep you updated too, take care Thumbs Up

Ok guys sorry not updated recently. We are still bone dry after the boot seal was replaced. Being a sceptic I am still expecting it to come back but as of yet it's all good Range Rover 4.4 V8 Autobiography

Hi, Renegade2, the front drains exist on the inside of the sill just back from the A Post area, whilst the rear drains exit at the sill area ahead of the rear wheel - easy to test, just pour some water at each corner of the sunroof and watch for the water draining Thumbs Up Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

i dont know if thats a goood sign or a bad one, good being its a common problem and thats the resolution Laughing or the bad news its such a big problem we wont get one till the summer Rolling with laughter

ive decided to do a wee test, down each full side when you open the tailgates I stuffed in an opened black page and slammed the tailgates shut lol

I have placed a towel in the usual area, i will check tomorrow if its soaking.

What panels did you have painted ? You would need to get to the drain terminations and try putting some welding wire or something up the end..... Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....
