@ daveo re your last two posts - this is exactly what I understood to be the case, that you needed a key to come from LR if you needed another key. There seems to be a lot of mis-information here (not yours daveo )

its one of those things, like mapping,if you have the equipment to do then your laughing..when i use to chip playstations it was money for old road, a £1.25 chip and 4 wires to solder and there you go £40. until every one started doing it and it came down to £10. the same in the key programming, you can buy the key cases now for £8 and the transponder chip are about a £5 so thats around £13 then just needs programming and as you need a bit of kit thats were the money is..so if there is any one on this forum how knows someone that can do this programming 100%, ask them if they are interested on doing a good price for forum members.

sorry got carried away with my self, the mapping is for the engine ecu and gives you around 20bhp but better torque and sorts out those flat spots.

That wasn't the case when I coded a key from another car to work on mine, using the technique posted on this post. OK it was a BMW E38, but same key, same transponder same technique!

pre 05 FFRR key would be £175inc vat, will come programmed and cut to your car.
