For me, I just want something that can check what's wrong if I do get a code. Having a neighbour who is a service manager at a LR Dealer is very handy for getting things rectified

Ultimately if I need to get something more specialised for the TD6 then it sounds like it will be £££ and from the repsonses to date it appears the newer models aren't supported by the previously suggested RAC/IID tools is that right?

Generic scan tools/fault code readers can only read the generic OBD codes - these are a simplified subset of the full fault code, and are only available for legislative reasons.

A dedicated LR specific fault code reader can read the full information.

I see, thanks Martin. Do you have a recommendation that will be suitable for an '06MY FF TD6?
