I'd like to buy an OBDII reader/code clearer thingy.

I presume it only reads the codes rather than clearing them, what do I need to get to clear the codes or is that not possible?

that one wont clear faults, you need a RAC [rover all comms] or an IIDTool...

As Scarey said, I have one of these as well and allthough the Range Rover is more involved if you have other cars in your family it can still come in handy if the engine light comes on.

It will give you a code which you can look up with the software and it will do a basic fault clear, but like Scarey said, it wont clear things like air suspension etc on the Range Rover. Reformed

So the RAC unit at £80 would work with any car with OBDII not just RR. Might be worth a punt.

The RAC or the IIDtool are Range Rover specific.

I have an RAC unit & the reader you looked at on Amazon. The unit on Amazon is a basic code reader that will work on most cars but will only read/clear the basic engine faults if the engine light check symbol is on.

What I meant was the reader that you are looking at on Amazon is handy to have along side something like the RAC etc. Reformed

Get real time data, fault codes, clearing etc.

I can have one wireless tool to do everything and don't have to use the laptop if I don't want to.

Worth a look, but its similar to the one from Amazon, in the fact that its a basic fault code reader and not Range Rover specific, so you will still not be able to check/clear faults with the various modules on a Range Rover like the Air Suspension etc.
