After days of hunting for an Evoque with no luck

As the ones that are for sale are quite literally ripping the pish …. with their add on "premium" Censored

The daughter has asked me to get her this one , going to drive out to the dealership to finalise everything hopefully over the weekend so looks like the wallets going to be taking a severe bashing …. Big Cry Big Cry

She took it for a test drive today all be it i had to sit in the back …. i was even quite impressed with it myself ……. Nice car to downsize from a FFRR i would say Whistle

Just out of interest MICK...is that a used MB?

How does it compare to what you would have to pay for an Evoque with similar Spec / £ for £ Question

Well the MB is £33.995 it's a 6 month old demo has all the toys 3.0 litre engine , i would guess to get the equivalent specced Evoque you would be in the region of £45k / £48k in either the Dynamic or Prestige model with a 2.2 Litre engine Thumbs Up

Rolling Eyes Theres your answer...

...its probably more practical than an Evoque to use as an everyday car also.

I am surprised by how few Evoques I do spot (considering I drive in and out of London each and every day).

As much as I like the design and have driven the sporty engine version which was great , the Evoque looks like it would be quite awkward to live with and use as an every day car - especially if you have children.

I found rear vision and awarenness wasn't great in the Evoque, and the view out of the door windows was filled with the huge wingmirror - i think the only thing wrong with Evoques is they are more cool design rather than useable function if that makes sense Neutral

If it's the 320 or 350 cdi, splash out on a Brabus D6 box from Merc. I'm on the look out for one for my CLS, they're supposed to totally transform the car. Thumbs Up 2006 Mercedes CLS

Well after test driving the Evoque myself and being a back seat passenger in the Merc , i would say she has picked the better of the two cars ….

She also looked at Audi Q5 and Q7 , Beamers X6 , X5 , X3 ….

plus read in another post the Evoques are starting to have problems ... Rolling Eyes

@ MAAK TS it's the 350 CDI , the normal set up of the car will do her just fine , as she's not a fast driver … safe and steady is her motto … Rolling Eyes

Try before you buy...

No left foot rest in the ML. Personally, I found it bloo Censored dy uncomfortable. Also, I hated the stalk operated gearshift, no "S" mode, no TR, no kickdown discernible, and insurance more than an FFRR. Apart from that (oh, and the American build quality and slow step off) I loved it. Yawn

I didn't buy one. Graham

Well she tried it yesterday and she liked it Cool , she's 25 and thinks it's more for a young girl rather than a "Boxy Square Car" as she calls the Range Rover Rolling Eyes

So what you don't like in a Merc somebody else does Rolling Eyes , just as what you like in a FFRR someone else hates …. Whistle
