Whilst I'd like to think that I'm sensible enough to realise that it's only one very small part of overall running costs, at this end of the market I'm sure many buyers do care.

You're probably right, but as you say it's likely to be a VERY small part of the overall ownership costs..... Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

When I was in the market, my priority was on an >MY07 car with updated terrian response etc. The extra £200ish on road tax didn't even come into the equation........... Wink Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I can get the car for a shy over £11k which even taking the milage into consideration seems not too bad value considering the cheapest S/C ive seen wnt for over 14k reciently.

My only problem is the milage...ive always bought high milage cars but this is my 1st range rover and im potentially diving into the deep S/C realms at that.

Ive looked into the various models and I get the impression the tdv6 is underpowered with pretty garbage fuel economy, the 4.4 v8 isnt much better then the supercharger and the tdv8 is good but still heavy money at 20k.

I dont do any more than 30 miles a day usually around 18...so hopefully running costs shouldnt be too bad? Ive had supercharged AMG mercs before.

How do i post images on this board?

Barrie,

If you don't buy it at that price you don't deserve a FFRR! It's an absolute steal! You must be crazy even coming here asking about it. As somebody else said, rip his arm off, and then get on with enjoying it.

As you've said, you can get problems with cars at 60k, 80k, 100k miles, 140k is little different.

Honestly, if you don't buy this car immediately, you need your head seen to!

Colour, everything else irrelevant, if you like the car, the Censored to resale value, it looks fantastic, and it's very fully loaded.

BUY IT! Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Thumbs Up If you're spending tens of thousands on a car with MPG in the early 20's (at best), £200 extra a year on tax is completely irrelevant, especially when the tax bands will no doubt be changed again shortly and the saving will disappear. If that happens then you're left with a car worth less as it's on an older reg plate than one that may only be a few weeks younger (or even older depending when it was built / registered!)

Heheh thanks for being so honest! Deposit paid! I just always seem to have post purchase buying behaviour when taking new ownership of a new marque ive never owned before.

Congratulations, I think you just smashed the record for best value S/C on the forum! I bought one eight months ago with 120k on the clock for £20k (then lost £5k when I had to sell it 6 months later). I suspect that when the snow arrives you'll find you can sell it at a substantial profit, in fact regardless of snow or not, I'm sure you're in the money! Sadly in a world where people don't really want to take a chance on something "different", I think you need to decide wether you REALLY like it and don't care about selling it on should the need arise or the novelty wears off.
I understand your comments re. black cars, but let's assume you decide to sell it on and there's this car and a black one, I'm guessing there would be significantly more interest in the black one, and would sell much quicker, or at least the buyer would try and use the "unusual" colour as a bargaining tool to drop the price.
In the current economic climate I would certainly keep both eyes on the resale potential of any purchase, but if that's not a concern to you, good luck with it! Thumbs Up

I've had my S/C for nearly 8 months now (doesn't time fly?) and I get on average about 15. Some get less, but few seldom get more!

I've owned a 996 (C2) and there's a world of difference between a FFRR and a 911. Have you driven both?

cheers

Hi. I know what you mean but every person looking to buy a standard vehicle there are others (i think) who like somthing a little different...similar to why people cheese brabus over amg for example.

I think everyone must think about residuals at some stage...I dont mind loosing a little i just dont want to find In a year the car ive bought for 11k is work 7k or somthing!

As for 911 ownership i had one before but this one was also for similar money and looked a very nice proposition but practicallity ensures that the range rover is a better bet...with the harsh winter were due it may prove to be a wise choice?
