Totally agree. Would hate for it to turn into a Bentley Conti GT image! |

It's going further upmarket, and that isn't usually cheaper. " ... top-spec models might even nudge into Bentley territory" Autocar "Land Rover also plans on driving the Range Rover up-market, quite possiblyinto the $120,000 - $160,000 price range given its success not just as a luxury off-roader, but as a prestige icon." Automobile.com "Design director Gerry McGovern has told CAR how the new Range Rover will be even more luxurious. 'We want these cars to be more proud, more important, more jewel-like,' McGovern said" Car "As part of the firmly upmarket direction for the new Range Rover, sources say the interior quality will take another leap, with the kind of lavish materials and design typified by Bentley" Autocar |

$120k is about £75k. Still not much of a jump really, even if it's a bit more than I suggested. Still be a good buy when it's a year or two old. |

Cars are cheap in the States - the current Range Rover starts at $80k over there. |

So you think it's going to be 50%+ more expensive? May make buyers of new L322s feel good now, but just can't see it. |

Unlikely I would have thought, but everything points to it being more expensive. Depreciation is a given with new cars. If you can't afford it, don't buy (or lease) a new one. |

So actually the RR does very well on % terms , although it's still £20k you've lost. |

In comparison to some yes ! Take an Aston Martin DB9 original price £127K, 3 years later it's worth about 70K - you loose 57K (new price now I think around 135 to 140K) But, it seems the same rules almost applies to most cars, once they get to 3 years you're looking at about 1/2 the current new price. Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 Expression New £7995, 3 years later worth 3 1/2 to 4K - Bingo 1/2 the value |

I currently average around 28mpg combined. During motorway journeys I can get as high as 34mpg. Urban I haven't seen it dip below 25mpg. |
