It's going further upmarket, and that isn't usually cheaper.

$120k is about £75k.
Still not much of a jump really, even if it's a bit more than I suggested.
Still be a good buy when it's a year or two old.

It's interesting to look on sites like Parkers guide. Here's a brief 5 year price history based on Diesel Vogue SE

Obviously the "now worth figures" are open to interpretation & spec etc, new price is based on standard SE - no extras !

2006 - new £63045 - now worth £26K
2007 - new £68947 - now worth £35K
2008 - new £67905 - now worth £41K
2009 - new £70995 - now worth £51K
2010 - new £74495 - now worth £62K
2011 - new £76135 - drive out the showroom today & loose probably £5K to 8K instantly !

Leasing is good to a certain point, but I did all the sums before I ordered my new one and it didn't stack up. At the end of the day leasing will cost at least £3 to £5K more over 3 years as you haven't got any capital left in those payments + you may end up paying more to cover any damage / extra miles. These companies have to make money, so that's fair enough, but unless you get given a lease car by a company you work for I don't think it's worth it - you may as well buy, loose the depreciation & you'll still have some value in the vehicle & the pleasure of owning

In comparison to some yes !

Take an Aston Martin DB9 original price £127K, 3 years later it's worth about 70K - you loose 57K (new price now I think around 135 to 140K)

But, it seems the same rules almost applies to most cars, once they get to 3 years you're looking at about 1/2 the current new price.

i read L405 will be more lightweight then L3xx and any big difference and advantages?

my guess heavy-weight L3xx will be good...

I took the plunge and purchased a new 2011 4.4TDV8. My current car was due for a change and was costing me a lot in fuel (big petrol engine!). It crossed my mind the new one is on the way but this isn't supposedly due for unveiling/release until September 2012. I also would not purchase any car, let alone a Land Rover product within the first one or two years of production. My current car has had a degree of problems and this model has been around, in terms of shell, since 2002!

I personally would go for it as you really won't regret it. Then in a few years if you want to upgrade to the new model do so. In that way, the new model is likely to have had most of its inevitable teething problems ironed out!

what is average consumption tdv8 in city and urban?

right now, i have Benz G350 CDI for offroad, which is very happy cost of fuel...

i heard some of my friend who has 2011 5.0L Supercharged in winter time ~50L consumption per 100km...

I currently average around 28mpg combined. During motorway journeys I can get as high as 34mpg. Urban I haven't seen it dip below 25mpg.

it is nice...
