Well it looks like I have not been so lucky with my shudder fault.
Full set of solenoids fitted 6 ltrs lifeguard 6 reset the gearbox adaptations .

Test drive and still shudders and rev counter bouncing on the motorway still.

It mite not be as bad it's difficult to say but it's not fixed I'm gonna drive it like I stole it for the next week got to recheck the gearbox oil level in the morning .

Big Cry

They do say it takes a little while for the fluids to flush through properly. Give it a bit of driving and see if it sorts itself out - hope it does!

Also just to update all… now around 300 miles in since fluid flush and such. Still driving spot on. Will jump back on here if anything changes. Best of luck to everyone else with sorting yours!

Yes I'm going to drive it for a week or 2 before looking deeper it's had a couple of flushes, new filter etc I was hopefull with David's symptoms being the same as mine and a faulty luc solenoid being at fault mine was the same he had instant success on changing the luc solenoid alas mines still there.

Scotland 2019 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Waitomo Grey

Following this with interest . Whilst mine is a much later model , it does something similar . Like a light thump from underneath , usually 3 thumps , can be from a standstill or from coasting . Had it into main dealer as I thought rear diff, but it’s tight as a drum , no visible leaks . They mentioned arc bushes all shot so replaced all of them and issues still persist . Looks like I’ll be going down the rabbit hole at some point too. Car is only 5 years old and less than 60k miles . Funny that my last one - 2013 sdv8 did the exact same thing though. 2019 SV AB Dynamic Scafel Grey

Hopefully iv sent the same screen shots to Phil the guru who may be able to shed more light on the problem.

Oddly enuf yesturday I had less shuddering I think but maybe I'm just driving it harder iv done less than 100 miles since doing the solenoids may be it is learning or not .

So sussex autos have given me a price on reconditioning the torque converter as per rrphils recommendation. I'm happy with that but they don't offer a full bring the car in and we do it service OK no probs.
They gave me a number of a company who want it for 48hours to carry out a diag they can't do it same day who of they confirm torque converter issues will remove the gearbox and or torque converter and repair as required.

Is 48 hours reasonable to diag a poss gearbox/torque converter issue because my Audi chief teck mate says its not nor does my citroen trained mate.

It's a 3 hour round trip to drop it off come home then back again to collect it after the diag 2 days later.

Am I being unreasonable here asking for same day diag ?

I went to an Auto Trans place near to me, they said due to my high mileage it wouldn’t be worth doing a flush etc again, best to go new (refurb) box. He said he could tell by symptoms and would be able to confirm with a short drive up the road. Having a general chat with the guy, he’d been doing for years and theses symptoms took a long time to diagnose back in the day, but are well known now. To do the job they would like the car for 7-10 days… 2010 Supercharged

The gearbox place are making a big deal about "it's not just a plug in we need to check the oil level"

That's fine the oil level is good and there are no codes. Let's see what rrphil thinks of the screen shots.

Clearly there’s a ‘vibration’ superimposed on the engine speed trace that isn’t there on the turbine speed but, depending on the x-axis scale (time), this could just be the torsional vibration from the engine firing pulses. When its lock-up clutch is unlocked, the torque converter is an excellent absorber of torsional vibration, so unfortunately I don’t think this tells us much.

We really need to see the engine speed and turbine speed overlaid on top of each other to be able to visualise the speed difference. We’re looking for a low speed vibration around, say, 1Hz and I just can’t see that in the traces. The data needs expanding so that the X-axis is a period of around 5-10 seconds or so.

Do you know if the data can be transferred off the snap on tool in any way e.g. as a .csv file?

Phil

While I'm waiting to get back to my mates for another go with the diag plugged in to get some better data for rrphil I set about checking a few other bits with the gap tool.

Looks like there is an issue on bank 2 with a long term fuel trim that far off at negative 7 something it's not far from setting off the engine light which I think comes on when plus or minus 10% is registerd.
