TDV8 Injector/Leak off Pipe Diesel Leak.

Evening,

Discovered a leak around drivers side injectors. When idling can see diesel dripping down.

Assuming it's either leak off pipe or a leaking injector.

No errors on dash. Haven't read codes yet but presume something would show on dash? Car drives fine.

So wanting to remove the driver side fuel line shield. 7 nuts I believe.

Any advice? Anything else that needs to come off to allow it to be released?

Answered it myself Very Happy Very Happy

Just the Plenum Chamber needs removing if anyone is interested. This gave me the required access to remove all 7 nuts from the Drivers side Fuel Line Shield and remove it.

Leak off pipe o ring replaced. no more leaks...

Just replaced our’s - same thing diesel leak when idleing and dripping from underneath - coming from number 8 in our case.

Hi just bought this amazing car
Project Karn TDV8 Vogue but has this leak.
So after some working I managed (and not too sure how) undid all 7 nuts now had almost got it out but would not come past the Aircon pipes.
I had removed the bracket to get air scoop off but am worried about how much to pull on those pipes.
Any tips please.

It should come out if the plenum chamber is out (the box that holds the cabin filter)

The air com pipes have a bit of movement but it's a case of wiggling and eventually it will come out. No skill to it just perseverance and luck? Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Thanks for your reply, I had removed the filter chamber and aircon pipe was just jamming it, it became a case of very carefully springing the pipe and it finally came out.
I replaced the leaking seal on the one near to front and then the second, after that I just can't get my hands on 3 & 4 and as not leaking decided if it ain't broke don't fix it.

One thing may help others here.
The R clips can be placed in either direction, the engine was untouched as out of factory and all 4 R clips on that side are pushed from rear. It wasveasier to push them in front to back.
NOw hands Up I LOST ONE SOMEWHERE it just pinned out and was gon.
As a tip an elastic band over the head of clip and a piece of cotton tied to the band easy to remove once R clip is in place but its easy to recover if dropped while fitting in such a tight space.

LR019118 is what we used, I would double check it though as always Very Happy I still have some I think, I will check the part number on the bags.

We got them from the local Main Dealer for £1.50 each which is expensive but not worth the hassle otherwise. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

MANIFOLD REMOVAL

OK, update i have removed all bolts from plastic manifold on drivers side removed injectors but seems to be a clamp hooked over stud. just when i though acces was bad enough on injectors etc. Does this come off?

Has anyone given this a go on the L405? The pipe has worn and sprung a leak, I assume something was rubbing.

Is there a technique to removing the black foam that’s packed around the injectors/leak off pipe? Just had a go in the dark and almost looks impossible to remove as it’s so tight, there appears to be a bracket holding it in place with 4x 10mm bolts in no man’s land…..

I had the foam insulator stuff disintegrate on me, so had to buy the part from main dealer

Part no maybe different for L405, as I have TDV8 4.4 MY11

They call it an Insulator Part No. LR022926 Cost £41.51 ex vat

For anyone else, it is those bolts (5 of) which are a serious PITA to remove on the L405, not sure if it’s easier on the L322!?

LR022590 leak off pipe is what I’ve fitted due to a wear split on the crossover section, very frustrating that this appears to be accidental wear & tear 🤬
