2009 l322 running board removal/delete

hi guys
previous owner removed the running boards for various reasons and now its one of the final fault codes i get on my rapidly reducing list
i have a gap tool as of today and had a plug in and poke around to see if there was a seemingly simple way of getting rid of the running board system from the car but couldnt find it anywhere

can someone advise of the steps to get rid of the fault? do i need to disconnect any ecu's/modules?

thanks!!!1 58 plate L322 3.6tdv8

Yes the electronic deployable side steps, in the diagnostic tool they’re referred to as running boards 58 plate L322 3.6tdv8

I think there are some fitting instructions on here somewhere, will give you an idea of what might be where… think they have their own ECU, that’s what I assume you need to delete from the car. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Maybe it will sort itself if you remove the ECU? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Thank you mate, I will have a dig around when the weekend comes back around and see what I can find.
Got to admit I’m eagerly anticipating the longer summer days with this car where I can carry on tinkering after work. 58 plate L322 3.6tdv8
