Just noticed today with the car frozen that a 4" wide section on the drivers side of the heated windscreen isn't working at all, so I guess has failed.

A search has revealed a few posts about this being covered by warranty but they are quite a few years ago so I wondered if anyone has recent experience of the Extended Warranty covering this issue?

The warranty info is a little vague (quelle surprise!) so just wanted a bit more info before I embark on the tortuous process of trying to book it in to the dealer. 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

i havnt Rob, but , if its only a portion on the window thats affected then it probably wont be a warranty job as the excuse will be that a stone chip has damaged the wire somehow...


it would however be interesting why only a 4'' strip isnt working but the rest is.. ... - .- -.

If the screen is damaged to the extent of needing a replacement (I.e. large stone chip in field of view or crack etc) is it covered by your insurance albeit with a modest excess?

I suspect you're right Stan, it probably won't be covered as it's difficult to pin down the cause. They probably class Windscreens as "consumables" anyway

Autoglass might just push it through as time consuming to investigate. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

It is covered by Land Rover Approved Warranty, I had an issue with a Sport a few years ago and it was found to be a faulty screen, so it was replaced with a Genuine one under warranty.

You will have to get your dealer to look at it to access what is wrong, i.e. not a fuse issue.
