Thanks for that… mind you I’m still confused…. Easily done Mildred. Noticed this in the link . Some one said a little while ago if the phone was plugged in , then it uses the external car Ariel…. Anyone????? Those two fins have got to useful for something!!!! I haven’t renewed wifi enabled , but kept connected & I haven't noticed anything yet. Quote What are the advantages of the vehicle's data connection over my smartphone's data connection? The strength of your mobile phone signal and data connection can be significantly reduced by the structure of the vehicle – metal reduces the transmission of radio waves. When inserted, the SIM card located in your vehicle’s interface panel connects to the mobile network via a significantly larger, dedicated aerial on the outside of the vehicle. This helps to maintain a much stronger data connection with the network. Unquote. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. How are people getting on with this? I'm in no mans land with a 2017 car and noticed today that the 3G kept flitting in and out on a 250 mile journey. I'd forgotten all about the switch off so not quite sure what to do next. I have wired CarPlay and tried to hotspot the car to my iPhone 15 but it wouldn't have it, kept getting the circling squares.

Mate I found that when hot spotting to my iPhone it would take ages to connect ok if I wanted to sit on drive for 5 mins and wait for it so I bought an lte 5g mifi unit from eBay £16 stuck a prepaid 3 sim that cost 65£ from amazon that gives 80gb a month till feb2027 it’s spot on |

Yeah, I gave up after about a minute as I have the patience of a five year old - barely. Cheers for the info about the 5G jobber, does it work automatically when you get into the car or do you have to connect it? 2017 Vogue SE

Nice one, cheers. I'll do that then. Out of interest, which one did you use off eBay? Amazon have them up for several hundred pounds but I can see some on eBay for £20ish. Just suspicious that one of them will have a dead mouse inside and nothing else. 2017 Vogue SE
