Took it for it's MOT, passed with only 1 advisory, got a slight coolant leak, which I think may have been me spilling it when I topped it up yesterday 😂 2012 Westminster 4.4TDV8

Today I checked the auxiliary battery. Didn’t have to remove it completely to see the manufacture date stamped on the negative terminal: Week 47 Year 12! 😮
So it’s original to the car. I can’t believe that in a car with such a reputation for chewing through batteries that it hasn’t been changed in 12 years!
New one on order.

I replaced my near side parking brake actuator!

Plan on using the FFRR more this year so got her some new tints and a bath, will be sending her in for a proper multistage detail before summer starts

What did I do this weekend?

I fitted the facelift steering wheel buttons to my L405. If there was anything that let it down, it was how cheap the buttons sound when you press them.

The touch buttons are a step up in quality.

New engine mounts and fresh oil change. Had some jerking issues which I assumed was the transfer case but turned out my engine mounts were shot, all fixed and smoothness is restored.

I have installed a 1500W inverter so that I can have a coffee on my trips to Andalusia. The Nespresso machine draws 1250W, so there is enough power available.
Installed in the place where the factory jack was, socket above the 12V connection in the trunk and power is drawn from the secondary battery.

After an unsuccessful attempt yesterday to diagnose why my rear wash doesn't work (probably pumping screen wash into the cabin somewhere), and an unsuccessful attempt to swap the FBH with a replacement, today I have successfully changed the rear diff oil. Nice to actually achieve something!

Replaced both external mirror glasses back to tints as one heater had failed.

Both warm now, but they don't get toastie like my Nissan, not sure why the temp is so limited but it's been the same on all my LRs.

Still, a lot better than they were and look much nicer with the blue tint again.

Passed the MOT and spent the rest of the day cleaning the car, tomorrow will be spent deep cleaning and treating all the leather.

Stripped & serviced the suspension air compressor, Hitachi, replaced the piston rings & seals. Old one was not too worn, but thought I'd do as a precausionary measure as I had some spare time.

Takes a lot less time to get up to pressure so old one was definately on it's way out.

After recently passing the MOT, driving home yesterday lost all the air and had to crawl home through town with the car on the bump stops - not a nice experience, eventually found the leak on the front offside air bag. So ordered two new complete struts / bags as the car is 07 reg, been squirting penetrating oil EVERYWHERE, in preparation of removing the old struts on Monday, bad news with the weather though, looks like it will be a cold, wet and windy job

I replaced the wiper blades and god damn does it feel nice to have a clean screen Its actually a sport

Not anymore, 4.4 TDV8 now

Got around to fitting the replacement suspension relay from PowerfulUK as a preventive measure.

Also fitted the Bevinsee 80w LED dip bulbs that arrived today, will see how they work out tonight.

Also found these really cheezy mirror brows on Ali Express, so fitted them see if they work as my mirrors always dirty and rain covered. They look a bit naff, but hey, function over form right.

Not very exciting, but ordered some Gtechniq L1 leather protector. Gave the seats a shampoo this morning as I like them protected. Found some L1 in the garage, but it was finished so got Mr Bezos to deliver some on Saturday
