Yes the V8 unit does have a break in period so power is reduced, that was normal on mine. |

Dealership called me back and said no power restriction it should not be sluggish or limited... I'm taking it back in tomorrow per their request to be looked at.

Mine was say at 80% power when new until around 3k then loosened up and was then at 100%, sounds like you do have a problem, mine is a 615 but same lump |

Thanks - I'm going to try to take the car somewhere to have it independently tested on a dyno. Our dealership won't be able to test that and I can foresee issues with them looking. If anyone has recommendations in the Hampshire area for an independent who can look for me that would be great. Never had a new car issue before, so frustrating after a 12 month wait for the car. |

Dealer now saying there are limiters on the new models carrying the BMW engine - heavy limits until 250 miles when you get a release of some power then full release at 350. Will update if that solves it so others don't have my panic I've got a dud. Amazed they don't tell you at hand over. |

Personally I can't fathom why someone would do a 0-60 test in a brand new car, surely driving with some mechanical sympathy, nice and gently, for a few hundred miles just seems like a better idea...... Pete

If it was a Jag/LR offering I could understand the restrictions
