Thanks Pete,

Very comprehensive sir but sadly im the sort of person that sends the car in if the ashtray is full.

I took it to the indy yesterday and they said the front pipes are shot. Rears are ok.

there is a lead time on the parts and they re all booked up for a month so im stuck with a lame duck.

Luckily i work from home and have no major travel plans so will be patient.

Gutted doesnt come close but i had a D3 back in the day so not surprised really.

Thanks for your help bud this and the D3 forum are always life savers!!

Cheers. All things transport - big or small, UK or planetwide.

Don't be tempted to run it with a leak, if the pump runs dry you will have an even bigger bill... Shocked Pete

Yeah the chaps said that.

They said no long runs and if i have to pop out i half a couple of litres of fluid to top the reservoir.

Happy days!!

I had the very same issue, and had the front ACE pipes replaced a few weeks ago, after waiting for parts for several months.

Sadly, it seems that when the front ones go, the rears aren't far behind Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

My front pipe went first, the rear started leaking as I brushed past it....?

Maybe worth seeing how much they want for both done separately or together, it maybe worthwhile to do them both although they are sort of totally separate jobs, one things for sure, it will fail... Crying or Very sad Pete

Ironically they said they had the rears in stock!

This is going to test my bank account and my nerves.

If you have the four way climate then get the rear pipes checked as they rot as well and run under the rear subframe, be a small amount to replace them if you are doing the lot....

Then your done with them for another 8 odd years....

Thumbs Up Pete

Yes indeed i do.

Sounds like a good idea.

If the rear subframe has to come off is it worth doing the brake flex hoses too?

May as well get as much done then hope she behaves for a few years. (LOL)

Thanks for all the advice so far.

Dave

Struggling to find the pipes to be honest.

Even my contact in Kuwait has them on country wide back order since October.

So what do you think on the repair kit;

Thanks.

Depends where yours have leaked, mine were fine going into the manifold, they rusted through near the wheel arch...

If I couldn't get the pipes from JLR, and that kit was no good then I think I would have taken them off and dropped them at a hydraulic line shop and have them make up some pipes in braided hose, you would then have to find a way to fix them better and stop slap in the hose when the pressure ramps up...
