Draining Old Petrol from a 2006 SC

Hi everyone,

I finally got back to working on my 2006 SC after it sitting way too long (years) in the garage.

I've replaced the plugs and coil packs and want to drain the fuel from the tank ahead of the first start up.

I went to syphon from the fuel filler, but was unable to do so (anti syphon mechanism?), I took a quick look around the engine bay but could not see a fuel pressure valve that I could use while jumping the fuel pump relay, so I'm left wondering what would be the best way for me to drain 1/4 of a tank of petrol from the tank. I do have a hand vacuum pump and decent skills. Any help would be appreciated.

Pretty sure the pump is in the tank on the S/C, get under the rear seat, identify the feed pipe with the aid of the W/M which you can download from the WIKI above, remove the pipe, add a long pipe to the fitting and into a can, turn the ignition on and pump it out.... Thumbs Up Pete

Is the fuel filter not under rear section of the LHS sill ? Might be able to disconnect it and with pump out or suck it out from there. V8 or else ...

If its just 1/4 tank put in some fuel conditioner a few gallons of super-duper premium and run it. Or crack off the hp fuel line in the engine bay connect it to rubber hose into a container turn on the ignition and let it pump out.
Either or will do it

Thanks for the replies. I ended up removing the caps on each side of the tank and siphoning the petrol out of both sides of the tank. Added 10 gallons of fuel and some Techron and it started right up. Mr. Green
