So, it seems the RR doesn’t want to go on holiday with us again… we go Saturday…. Was accelerating half throttle from a roundabout on dual carriageway…. Bong… no power…..

AA been out and told me it needs to go the garage. He has cleared codes. Bit of black smoke when it’s revved a bit. He says it’s soot.

Any thoughts?

Check the codes with the workshop manual diagnostics for a start. Useful to have a GAP IID to see which codes pop up again after you clear them as an initial fault may cascade down to cause other faults. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Not sure which one causes the others. It’s def not happy, part throttle produces a bit of black smoke. Booked it into the garage after we get back from hols. Second time it’s let us down on a holiday trip. AA man telling me an L405 is worse with issues, who knows…. Maybe petrol is the way…..

Took it to the garage yesterday morning. Just spoke to them and they are saying the RHS inlet manifold has split, prob explains the black smoke….. don’t know if they mean the donut or the big plastic manifold down the side…. Looks fairly expensive for a new one.

They are doing me a quote and will do a service and a few other bits.

Almost certainly it's the intake the donut feeds so this won't be a cheap job unfortunatley. AFAIK the 2012 and L405 got upgraded manifolds to fix this issue. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Cheers, I though as much to be honest, cos initially she said cam cover. I was accelerating at about half throttle so was under a bit of boost. Hopefully the other side will stay intact for a bit longer 🤣.

Indeed. They missed off an injector refit kit, as obviously need 4.

Getting front brake pipes, pads and a service too.
