I'm toying with the idea of a software EGR delete but have concerns about any drivability changes like engine braking on overun. If I blank the EGR as a test I know it will throw and EML but will it also go into resticted performance ? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I tried a blanking plate for a few minutes. Idling was good, gently touching the accelerator was nicely responsive but when lifting off the accelerator there was extreme engine braking presumbly due to the EGR throttle being closed trying to reduce fresh air intake and increase recirculated exhaust gas intake. Driveabilty was terrible so the plate was quickly removed.

Getting a taste of what throttle response was like without EGR was the final prompt to have EGR mapped-out, at which time I opted for a very slight performance increase to match the L405/L494's tune.
Engine behaviour is excellent and definitely no engine braking concerns.
