I finally got the latest l322 4.4 TDV8 2012 Range Rover Vogue in good condition. I am happy for me and wanted to share Since 4.4 tdv8 is amazing compare to my previous once, I will keep this one for a long time. At least this is the plan...

I have few questions:
- I am used to lock the doors engine running and all of us are out near by like for something quick so the car stays warm or cool, also avoid short drive start/stop situations. I cannot do this with this one and wanted to ask is this possible? I checked with Gap IID, no options regarding this. Car just honk/no lock every time i want to lock the doors when engine is running from outside with the remote key.
- Adaptive cruise control, I am not sure if this is default on all but I do not have those button on the steering wheel like arrows with distance. Does all these models have it? I tried all possibilities and it seems like it is not there.
- Battery is a little old (4 years) so i am getting time to time those battery related restricted modes (especially water in the fuel sensor). Gap IID find/erase continues like no problem. I found out also this car is fitted with AGM, so my list of known none AGM batteries are not good enough for this one. I found this via search - VARTA Silver Dynamic AGM 95Ah, 12V, A5 (G14). Would this be sufficient enough?
- Remote lock, I got used to lock button press one and it super locks on the previous RRs but this one by default press twice to engage super lock. Am i correct? I also saw this in GAP IID that i can change it to one time press, but before i tweak this change i just wanted to make sure.

I might have more questions, so far it is only 1 day old in my ownership. Loving every minute of the drive.

Super lock is 2 presses by default.
You can change it to 1 with the IID. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

thanks a lot, i already tweaked some settings with GAP IID, unlike the 2008 it really resets everything in the 2012 time/date/radio all settings... I will be thinking to do collective changes rather than one by one...
About the water in the fuel restricted mode, why this only happens if I do short drive and stop the car and start again? I really thought this is battery related but then checked the battery over night i still have 12.2V, while driving 14.4 quite a while then 13.5, which is all good. And also took it to battery change place and they tested all other parameters and told me it is still fine. Long distance, like 1-2 hour drive, bumpy road like cobalt street and even tried semi off road on the field...no error like water in the fuel, also pushing 3 or 4 rpm not throwing this error but short drive like 5 min and stop and start the car, i get restricted mode because of water in the fuel sensor. Any thoughts? Other than ignore all battery levels and tests, still change the battery  Range Rover 2012 4.4 TDV8 - current

It's quite common for the contact inside the rubber plug to break over time and cause the water in fuel sensor fault code, also very common is for the the middle pin of the connector to be loose and not making a good contact, so therefore not touching the sensor

The cable on its own isn't available anymore, and the assembly for a 4.4 TDV8 from JLR ( Jaguar
Land Rover ) is a staggering £300

But the housing for a Ford Transit Diesel part ( 2006 to 2012 ) is £40 quid ( same part )

Get the Fuel housing off the car, and have a really good look when you take it apart, it might be the
middle pin of the connector not making contact !

Take off the connector, and push the jelly inside - not too much, and see if it helps, you cannot do any harm - it's a quick fix that some of us have used, how long it lasts I don't know

Don’t leave the Gap iid plugged in when not being used, it will kill your battery very quickly.
