I had the problem mentioned by David - Zebedee - and cured it with a spot of superglue. The brass switch is an interference fit in the composite block and, as he says, can slip so that the switch is not getting fully depressed.

Hi Dan, We need to get this fixed for you! It is almost certainly a problem with the yellow earth lead that is causing your problem (see Weegie's and Zebedee's comments)....we have experienced no other operational issues, and mine (and hopefully everyone elses!) works fine. Please check that the little gold plated plunger on the yellow wire is protruding from the 3D printed block properly, that it is still spring loaded and that it touches the gear lever properly when in Drive. There is a small amount of 'slop' in the gear linkage which translates to a few mm of movement where the plunger touches the lever. If the mounting block is not adjusted properly (or the plunger is stuck/retracted), you could easily get a situation where the contact is intermittent and the behavior would be as you describe. I'm very happy to discuss this on the phone if you'd like to give me a call. Incidentally, the pocket in the back of the airbag where the Tx module fits is all plastic, so there should be no need to add tape or heatshrink to the module. I accept this might appear unusual, but it is quite happy in its little environment there. As you mentioned, the red lights flash when you pull a paddle so the Tx is working. You could check the equivalent red light inside the Rx box too but I would concentrate on the earth lead first. Good luck. D. |

My kit still works and that's after transferring it from the 53 plate td6 to the 08 plate tdv8 3..6 I have now and I use them quite regularly to either change up when doing 48 mph in traffic in fouth to fifth or down when braking. |

Update: after discussing with @Zebedee in PMs, it sounds like the '10 - 12 cars may already have the wiring in place, at least on cars with the stick-type shifter we got here in the US. So I may only need to add the paddles and away we go! Or not |

Just the same set up as my 2008 3.6 tdv8 and yes you can go up or down the box in drive without moving lever over to sport as long as the gearbox is happy with it, ie. road speed and engine revs ect. |
