United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

Hi all, recently bought a 2013 sdv8 and looking for advice already! Went into restricted performance mode immediately after filling it up with diesel a couple of weeks ago and engine wouldn’t turn off. Eventually managed to stop the engine somehow and sorted it at the roadside by getting out and locking the car and the restarting it and all was fine again. All very odd and a bit worrying. Took it to an independent specialist who found 4 pages worth of error codes. Remedy was two new batteries. Next problem is the lack of an engine dipstick.
Apart from that it’s a lovely car to drive and surprisingly economical.

Hello!

I’ve ran a couple of old jags over the years and since my last one was written off by an old duffer I thought best to get something more robust and suited to current driving conditions.

I bought an ‘04 vogue (hse badge on tailgate) that has had an interesting past. I paid £1,200 for this and at that price I was more than happy - although the offside rear arch/sill is holed, I was aware of this and know what lies ahead (buying a welder)…

I am a Freelander 2 owner and looking at a full fat in the next year so lots of reading to do.
Already got a good idea, so we will see if Santa wants to be kind to me.

Scotland 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Orkney Grey

Hello all
I have just registered on the site and I am looking for advice already. I have an L322 2011 TDV8 which I have just fitted with General Grabber 255/55R20s after following posts on the site. Excellent advice and I am really happy with them on and off road.
I am looking for underbody protection but can’t find anything in my searches. I have found decent rock sliders which will fit but no sump or transmission protection.

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Loire Blue

After five and a half years of Range Rover Sport ownership, it is time to move on and swap to an L405. Today I traded in my 2012 L320 5.0 Supercharged HSE and picked up a 2016 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8.

I had toyed with the idea of another 5.0 supercharged in the later L494 Sport but in the end I prefer refinement and comfort over speed. The answer may have been a 5.0 supercharged L405 but with the 4.4 SDV8 I am looking forward to getting more than 260 miles per fill up.

The plan had been to find a 2016 or 2017 Vogue or Vogue SE. Having tried both spec I went with the SE for the better seats. In the end I found this one at James French in Oxfordshire and the service from them was very good (so far, so good). The car has a few extras such as privacy glass, deployable steps etc. and has done 52,000 miles. It was fully serviced before collection.

The first job was to hook up the OBD2 code scanner and install Car Scanner Pro on my phone so that I can monitor regen (something not an issue with my old 5 litre). Also, need a set of genuine LR rubber mats or similar. Any recommendations from forum members for non LR rubber mats that are robust and last?

The change from L320 to L405 is immediately noticeable. The L320 (with 63000 miles) was sharper handling, stronger brake response and happy to be hustled - hence the Sport name. The L405 is brisk but definitely not a car to be hustled. In truth, I am ready for the change from sport to comfort and very pleased with my choice.

After 10 years on your sister RRS forum with a fab bunch of Range Rover addicts (a very helpful crowd Cool ) I look forward to joining in here on the fullfat forum. Very Happy

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Nara Bronze

So hello to all you fellow Rangies...
Last week I took delivery of a 2011 4.4TDV8 Vogue. 137k miles. New suspension compressor and recent oil service but not much else service history wise. Has had a few fuel filters last one in March this year.
Typically after it was delivered..."without a glitch" the delivery driver left happy with his lot but I take it and fill it with diesel and "Restricted Performance" lights up. 30 minutes sitting still code is gone and seemed to be fine. However over the weekend a few trips and the same thing popped up and cleared itself after standing for 30 minutes or so 3 or 4 times.
Anyway I now have an iCarsoft code reader and 2 major faults flagged up. 1 I believe is unrelated and is historic and permanent fault( looking on here I think there is clear information about EGR temperature sensor)
The second is most likely the current culprit. "Intermittent Fault" Absolute Manifold pressure fault. Can't remember the code number.
My thoughts are to pull the turbo boost plenum and replace the 4 original boost hoses. Clean it, the EGR pipe, the throttle body and the plenum sensor thoroughly. Also the air filters haven't been replaced in a decade by the looks so they are also being swapped out.
Whilst I'm in there there are numerous other vacuum pipes and sensor cables to check out.

United States 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Chawton White

Hello everyone! Glad to find a still active car forum! Quick about me, I purchased a 2006 Range Rover Supercharged last fall for a sweet $3000USD with a very unhappy transmission, almost non-existent brakes, and bald tires.

After some new transmission solenoids, a Sonnax zip kit, and some new seals and fluid the transmission is happy again. I fixed a loose and leaky brake line, plus new pads and rotors. And I found some 2018 Range Rover wheels with one year old tires for less than a set of new tires.

But it's still got other problems I'm sharing through as well. So far this site has already been helpful, and I look forward to being part of this community.

New Owner

Hi all,

A new RR owner, this is my first. Took the plunge after seeing quite a few nasty ones!! Not too much choice in Rep of Ireland.
Very tidy 2008 3.6TDV8 Vogue.
Drives nicely, very good nick.
As expected a few things to sort out. All the best
Chris
