Hello,

I'm new to L405 ownership after four L322's! and had the low speed transfer case knock as outlined in LTB00906NAS4.

Oil flushed twice and Clutch recalibrated but having an available update via the IID Tool, though best to apply this as well.

Now since applying the update last night, the car has become an expensive paperweight whereby the Low Range light on the dash and centre consol is flashing along with Gearbox Fault displayed.

Fault codes from the IID Tool as follows,

TCCM-Transfer Case

P080A-54 (2F) Clutch position is not learnt - System programming failure - missing calibration

P183A-54 (2F) Range change mechanism failure - System programming failure - missing calibration

TCM-Transmission

U0001-81 (2F) High speed CAN communication bus - Bus signal/message failure - invalid serial data received

Has the TCCM module now "Bricked" causing the communication failure?

GAP are looking into this but inital response is another issue with the car than the software update although all was functioning fine prior to the update (The old saying if it "ain't broke don't fix it" has crossed my mind)

Could anyone help shed any light on this issue?

I would look at reflashing the TCCM with the version that was previously installed, assuming that GAP can supply it.

At the moment GAP advised reverting is not possible

Would SDD be able to re-flash with the previous version?,

Or could this be a result that other modules (i.e BCM, Gearbox etc) need reflashing to acknowledge the new TCCM file?

Did you have a battery charger on when you did an update as per the technical bulletin? 2017 SDV8 4.4 silicon silver AB

Not possible because the GAP tool won't load an earlier version or becuase GAP don't have the earlier version? I suspect the former as have a feeling that I've tried such a reload in my MY12 L322 with my IIDtool, in which case a SDD might not have such a restriction.

Have you tried reloading the new s/w again?

I followed guidance from the reflash email received instead of the technical bulletin & didn't have it connected to a battery charger at the time of flashing.... which now makes me wonder if it dropped voltage during the reflash!

But despite the IID tool showing the reflash as success, would it be worth connecting to a charger and then trying again?

Issue now resolved and car back to how it should be... working!

Support from GAP was brilliant, Patrick resent the software to re-apply to the IID Tool, then reflashed the ECU.

From there the range position sensor could be calibrated, followed by the clutch.

I did this time have the car connected to the CTEK charger but think the software update managed to corrupt hence the issues raised.

Good that it was only an update glitch rather than an incompatibility issue.
