Also suggest getting a Ghost or similar immobiliser fitted. Saga take that into account.

I thought it was interesting that the 4 cheapest facelift L405’s on AutoTrader currently are all P400e’s (100-115k miles).

Is there a reason their values seem to have dropped compared to their full ICE counterparts?

I guess if the user case is better for shorter journeys perhaps it makes the market for them a little smaller, after starting this thread I have gone off the idea of one as I’d be more comfortable in a less complicated and more economical (for the journeys I use a FFRR for) diesel variant.

Not to say I wouldn’t test drive one out of interest if I ever moved on from the L322. 2009 pre-facelift 3.6 TDV8.

Guess it’s uneconomical for the battery to be changed. Can’t imagine it’s quick or cheap! 2009 pre-facelift 3.6 TDV8.

I'd be interested to see the sales figures for the period 2020 to 2022 of ICE v leccy models as the OS is largely populated ny electric versions rather than diesel or petrols. I'm contemplating selling my SDV8 but there is nothing out there that takes my fancy. L460s are stretching the budget a bit and they havent grown on me enough (exterior is fine, interior less so) First time FFRR owner

This is a bit back of a fag packed maths but here are the L405’s for sale on AutoTrader between the years 2018-2021 split by the way they are fuelled.

So a very rough conclusion would be that every 1 in 6 or so FFRR’s sold during its production run was a P400e. 2009 pre-facelift 3.6 TDV8.

The verdict is in, buy a petrol... rarer

Next exam question is,

if you do buy a hybrid, how much will it cost to replace the battery?

Still want a hybrid

I read on a Defender forum that it was £40k (which includes £8-£10k labour). Guessing similar / bit more for a full fat. Also read that once the battery reaches 70% capacity ‘it’s toast’. 2009 pre-facelift 3.6 TDV8.
