I did the wireless method using a maplin 2 channel gizmo.
Changing the paddle board is a bit of a nightmare and I gave up building a bridge as Matt sugested.(too small for this old man to see!)
It's far easier to connect a short piece of wire from the blue (or grey wire) to the corner of the button and just unsolder the 2 small resistors.

On the back of the TX as you turn it over:
left button
Left solder point = common
Right solder point = NC

Right button
Top left solder point =common
Bottom right solder point = NC
This info will make sense when you've got the bits

Apart from that a very satisfying mod all thanks to Matt! 5.0 supercharged autobiography

Common is earth
blue to nc and grey to other nc

Rotate your tx 90 degs clockwise and the left solder point on the back of the left button is your first earth and so on.

When you've soldered the wires on if you touch the blue and earth together (or the grey and earth) the led on the tx board will light up - job's a good one.

I have left the battery in situ at the moment. Make sure you insulate the terminals with tape though.

And don't forget to set the reciever to "pulse" or it just won't work!

Join the two earths from the tx to the single black earth wire from the paddles.Grey wire from the paddles to grey on the tx, blue wire from the paddles to blue wire on the tx .

Now there's only a red wire on the paddles left over. The red wire powers the leds on the paddles. You don't need to connect this to make the paddles function but if you want them to look pretty in the dark you need to connect it to a positive feed in the steering wheel, the black earth wire will also need connecting to an earth on the steering wheel I didn't bother to do this.

Confused......You'll get there.
