What Battery Charger?

What's the best Battery charger to maintain my Battery 2013 ? I don't do many miles and its left for days not used sometimes.

Can I just connect to the posts under the bonnet without disconnecting the battery ?

Its outside as well !!??

I have been using a Ctek MXS 10. I am happy with it. You can connect to the terminals in the engine bay. I and a couple of other forum members brought an M8 CTek connector and wired that to the terminals, so I safer and easier connection. One member has run that connector down meaning it sits inside the front bumper so he can connect the charger without opening the bonnet. SDV8 AB MY 2020

If you type in 'C-tek' into the search function there is a wealth of info about charging - battery chargers / conditioners. This should help, have a beer and prepare for some reading !

PS - Edit - Depending upon your car and type of chargers there can also be the option of charging via the towing socket, which some people find to be very handy.

If you go for a Ctek think carefully/google before getting a MXS 10 or higher as the warranty is lower for the higher current models. I use the MXS 7.0 Chris

The slower you charge a battery, the longer its life. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I've just bought a Topdon tornado 30000 which has a few charging options plus a 12 volt supply if doing work with the IID tool.

Another thing how do you hard wire to the battery using the connectors under the bonnet on a 2013 L405

with the eyelet connectors theres no nut/thread to screw them onto ??

Yes there is!

You can totally unscrew the negative post, clean under it attach the ring and reattach the post.
Undo the +ve 10mm bolt holding the plastic box and pull the whole box upwards to remove the plastic plug on the other side. Flip the box over and I think it’s a 13mm nut on the underside you can remove and put the ring over & replace.

Disconnect the battery first!

Or be very careful! Twisted Evil “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
