2015 L405 Vogue SE - Heater ???

Hi All,

I know its a bit of a first world problem but does my car have an auxiliary heater? I think that is what its called? My S-Class would blow hot air within 20 seconds from a cold start.

Let me know if I have to press something LOL.

if it's a diesel it will definitely have a FBH (fuel burning heater)/Aux heater - they all do as standard. It is used primarily to heat the engine/coolant on starting as the 4.4 TDV8 is a cool running engine. However if you have a receiver in the boot (not sure about the L405, but in the 322 it's on the right) then you do have the facility but it will need a transmitter (91 version?).

Do a search on here and there is lots of info on FBH. Thumbs Up

It'll likely have an FBH, but it doesn't put its heat into the cabin air directly. As above, it heats the coolant, which will take time to get to a temp where it'll start putting noticable heat into the cabin through the heater matrix.

Mine doesn't blow hot hot air within 20 seconds that for sure, but it begin to put out warmed air fairly quickly. Plus, I've found that the climate settings are generally set to be quite slow/gentle to respond if left to their own devices. V8 or else ...

I believe that's to reduce cabin noise and for reduced emissions. Gotta save the planet and all that. In a V8 strikes me about as impactful as a pea on a mountain.
