I needed to search for "deplorable" side steps to find some information. Has anyone dismantled the side steps to lubricate them? How easy is this to do? Or should I leave for the garage to do? SDV8 AB MY 2020

Give them a good pressure wash at the hinges and use a WD40 lithium grease spray on them 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue |

I use ACF 50 twice a year, it seems to work OK, not tried the WD40 Li product.

So I pressure-washed them today. And did the lubrication. They are still stuck.

Did you use ACF 50 to lube?

I surmise, because they have the self reversing anti trap torque motor. If they gave you a lubrication point, would this not change the amount of torque necessary to reverse the motor? |

The kicks didn't seem to help. But laying on my back and doing to two-leg push really helped.

I remember seeing a post on here where someone had removed a cover plate from the side step mechanism and cleaned all the debris out of it. Unfortunately I can’t re-find it with search.

Next time try this little trick. Press the open button, then stand on the step that is sticking out. Then lock the car (while still standing on the step), step off the step, then unlock and lock the car. This usually resets the step. Than lubricate as above. 2017 (67) Vogue SE Corinthian Grey |

![]() I have the issue of female purchases that are never utilised. Must be in the genes I sssume you have your own man cave somewhere else …. ? Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc He who dies with the most toys wins... |
