Gearbox not calibrating

Hi

Please everyone bear with me if I don't give enough detail but I will happily get anymore information for someone who can assist me.

To be succinct: Our gearbox won't calibrate after having the transmission control module replaced.

Can anyone assist? Dealer doesn't know what to do.

If the box won't leave Park then it is likely to be an immobiliser input preventing the car moving and it would need code matching to allow gear selection. If the box is running through gears then that'll be something else entirely.

There are a plenty of BMW TMS videos online you could wade into as the ZF8 box is common with JLR.

it is a 2014 L405 Range Rover Vogue SDV8.

The Transfer case is what actually is not wanting to calibrate.

We had the transmission control module replaced as there was a circuit actuator stuck in open.

Dealer is perplexed as to why it's not calibrating as it has everything it needs to.

I'd be checking all the plugs are pushed home properly on the transfer box, the earth strap is connected and the harness isn't trapped / damaged. I've had problems before with transfer box calibration after repairs, it's always been either a connection issue or the position of the clutch actuator in a implausible position. It'd probably be worth checking the relevant fuses in case something was shorted out during the repair operations.
