L322 rear subframe replacement

My 2003 L322 has just failed it's MOT as a result of serious corrosion to the rear subframe and requires welding. I am exploring the possibility of replacing the subframe but I am experiencing some difficulty with the part no. Rimmer Brothers Ltd of Lincoln suggest KHE500050 for my car which is apparently obsolete. However ebay etc suggest KHE500100 as the part no? Any advice/help would be appreciated by club members. BTW the current list price is £1,684.80 OEM.

Wow that is expensive Shocked Another route you could take is to Have a look on ebay and gentlemen of salvage, there are quite a few for sale that look to be in reasonable condition, you could have it blasted and coated prior to fitting.

If it's failed on the rear subframe how bad are the rear of the sills and the rear arches, take off the sill covers and check, it may be a lost cause if there is rot there as well.... Pete

As per Joe90 eBay has this one that looks pretty good at first sight and a decent price:

+1 for Haylands advice. At 20 years old this could become a serious money pit.
Of course if the rest of the car is very good then it will be worth saving but it's very easy to spend wildly on these things.

As above. Check for any other rot in the sills and arches (remove sill covers and rear inner wheel arch liners) then make a decision.
Fit a good secondhand subframe that you've treated and painted etc before fitting. Cover it in Lanoguard or a wax etc. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Fixed Rust

Fixed sills, arches and replaced rear sub-frame (and brake lines) on my 2004. Plenty good steel to weld to when frilly bits cut out. hope that's it for now.......
