Canada 2013 Range Rover 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

@salsbury LOL @ j turns in a FFRR. I have yet to do one as there is never a need in normal driving.

L322, 6,000 lb ball room dancer…more like a lineman as a ball room dancer.

Thanks for the compliment about the part numbers. It takes a minute online to find what is needed. It may be possible to replace the shifter with one from a L494. They are used with the same transmission, and may be plug and play. The mounting pattern appears the same, and the trim piece looks like it will fit. The transmission shifter cables are the same.

Does the American market use the shift lever on the L405 ?
Maybe one of our American brothers can verify? Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where,s the f**king ceiling!!

Just had a quick look through the complete ccf files with my gap g3 iid Bt tool and can’t see anything that would need to be changed in order for a stick shift to be enabled ? So hopefully would be a straight plug and play Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where,s the f**king ceiling!!

Hello from Canadia! Nope they all have the washing machine dials to the best of my knowledge.

Hey Bora - this J-turn showmanship scores rather high on the spectacle-o-meter, what with it taking a tumble more than a gymnast at the Olympics. But in terms of actual effectiveness? It's down there with a chocolate fireman, I'm afraid.

Maybe I am dealing with the wrong parts here...
I would LOVE to have a gear SHIFT as opposed to the spinny knob thing...

These are photos off of eBay - so I may not have the correct parts, etc.
But it appears that the Sport has kind of a wide rectangular connector, and the L405 has more of a square connector. It does not appear to be a straight swap.

Am I missing something?

The L405 uses a 12 pin connector but only 7 are used. Electrically it wouldn't/shouldn't be an issue, the biggest problem I can see is that the L494 mounting frame is angled, meaning that the trim filler wouldn't sit flat in the L405 mounting frame. Next time we have a L494 trade-in I'll do a bit of side-by-side investigation, I've a feeling the CAN address structure means that if it can be electrically & mechanically fitted, the donor would at least need to be from the same MY for it to be recognised on the Powertrain CAN.

I would LOVE to do this...

In 6 weeks of ownership -
I have added a Harley drink holder to the passenger dash (Reminiscent of my '06 L322)...
I don't like the wife's stuff in my dominion - which includes the center console.
Also added a Merryway Android 10.25 Head unit with a Boost Mobile 4G SIM card. "In theory" I can go to Auburn Games and watch the late Pac 8 games driving home... (or Hallmark Channel - depending on who is in charge of the dash.)

I am contemplating buying a George Jones edition beer cooler for the front cubby off eBay. I just need to recover from the new CAT and Pinion Seal...

If anyone has a 2016 RRS gear SHIFT sitting around that they are willing to part with cheap - I am game.
I would build a pigtail to go from square to rectangular and see how the console trim worked out. 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'

OK Boys... this could be happening, it may take a year to gather all the bits/pieces and find a weekend when the wife is out of town and not wondering why I am taking apart a perfectly good truck...

That being said - this is out of a 2014 L494 and mine is a 2016 L405...
If Phoenix is right - that could be an issue.

If anyone has a lead on an old CHEAP wiring loom for the L494 shifter - I could use that as the male side of a pigtail (short wire loom that converts one plug to another) The female side of the pigtail... is tougher. I may have to get another spinny knob and cannibalize the connector - This is when I wish I had a 3D printer...

If any of the experts on here know of where to get these connectors... Send leads my way!

This is the place I use https://www.auto-click.co.uk/ there's probably a USian version - send them a photo of the connectors and they'll usually be able to work from that.
The MY break should be OK as nothing significant CAN architecture wise happened in production before 17MY some of the early (DAxxxxxx) VIN's can be a challenge for compatibility but EAxxxxxx VIN's are generally OK

Thanks Phoenix!
I am going to wait until I get the shifter so I can get good pics of the connector myself. 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'

One step closer...
The dude that sold me the Sport Shift Lever threw in the connector!

The hardest part was always going to be the Female to mimic the bottom of the Maytag Delicates knob...

At least some if not all of the wiring colours appear to be the same - I don't have any wiring diagrams for the L494 so I can't give you a pin-to-pin conversion table.

You'll have to check the measurements, I reckon this could be made to fit....
