EGR Delete

Hi all , I’ve had a lot of EGR error codes and engine management lights and I’ve explored the possibility of getting the EGR deleted .
I’ve been quoted for this from several mapping companies but I’m unsure if I need to blank it off or not .
Also one company said I would need to disconnect the EGR module myself .
Any advice welcome. Has anyone successfully done this .
I have had the EGR looked at but it’s still a problem. 2011 tdv8 4.4 vogue Santorini black

You can remove the EGRs, blank out the spaces where they were with kits from E-Bay, then map them out to stop the EML coming on.

BAS do a remap - https://bellautoservices.co.uk/store/rrs-3...-road-use/ Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

This is not advised on the 4.4 TDV8, which depends on the EGR for the emissions control and DPF.

If you can share some of the fault codes/issues, the members on here should be able to help identify what the actual resolution is.

It is invariably intake hose related, the seal inside the throttle body union or exhaust sensor down the side of the engine which are the root cause of EGR / DPF / Restricted Performance issues. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

The BAS link is for the 3.6, not the 4.4.
EGR operation is only made inoperative by remapping but the valve still needs to respond to the test and clean cycles so has to remain. Mine's been made inoperative and I'll blank it when I get around to it in case the valve stops sealing.

DPF burns won't be affected by lack of exhaust gas recirculation as the valve is required to be closed during a burn to ensure that all the fuel-rich exhaust goes to the catalytic converter rather than be cycled back through the engine. However I don't know the impact, adverse or otherwise, of soot accumulation in the DPF when the valve is always closed.

Just as an aside, If I install the BAS EGR delete on my 3.6 with the blanks installed can it be undone and put back to factory standard if at some point this would become necessary?

I get the code P245A EGR bypass circuit high from memory .

I’m still unconvinced that the EGR can’t be deleted there isn’t anyone though that I’ve seen had it done which is holding me back 😒 2011 tdv8 4.4 vogue Santorini black

Paul, this sounds like the cooler bypass actuator which is faulty. Has any garage suggested it could be this? It's a very cheap part (LR022783) and maybe looks possible to change without removing the oil cooler?

You need to remove plenum chamber, then you have acess to this valve. But only thing you can do is just connect vacuum gun and check is it physicaly moving or not. However, its a vacuum valve and without any feedback to ECU, so if you have fault code you need to find and check electric solenoid valve first.
